My Laundry Question
What size washing machine is needed to accomodate a king sized quilt?
Share a Little Background Info
I am on craigs list shopping for a washing machine and want to get one big enough. What I currently have is not quite big enough and leaking oil so I know I have limited time with it. I am wanting to go to a front loading model but am not sure if that is a good idea. Sharing others experiences may help.
- too small doesn't get my clothes clean

I'll address two issues. 1. To wash a king size quilt, you should have at least a 4.5 cu. ft. washer. A front load is best because there is no center agitator. If you only wash the quilt occasionally, it may save you money to wash it at a laundromat. Large capacity washers are more expensive. 2. The size of the washer drum has no effect on the cleanliness of the laundry if you load it properly. If you are over-crowding the washer, they won't be clean.
