My Laundry Question
I have a washer and dryer in my home and the vent that is attached to the wall from the dryer has moisture that is somehow coming through and providing moisture within the dryer. Around the vent attachment to the wall it is wet. I need to know what kind of contractor I can get to repair the problem? Please help, I dislike going to the laundromat.
Thank You.

I do not have a stain besides the one in the wall. The stains that are inside the wall I believe came from something other than the dryer but I just do not know where to start to get the necessary help that I need.

- I have not tried to solve the problem instead I just do not use it. I would like to be able to solve the problem.
Mary Marlowe Leverette, Laundry Guide, says:
Moisture in and around a dryer vent is serious because it can cause mildew and mold to grow. It is important to correct the problem. There are several things you can do that may correct the moisture problem. First, be sure that you empty the dryer lint trap after every load.
Second, remove the dryer hose and be sure that it is not clogged with lint. Be sure that your dryer hose is installed properly and is not kinked.
Next, check outside to be sure the outside vent is clean and working properly. If you do all of these things and the moisture problem remains, you will need to contact a general contractor or repairman to check the vent to see if it is within standard building codes and possibly reinstall. The repairman should also check the wall for possible moisture damage and insect activity.
Good luck.
