Lessons Learned

  • About 5yrs. ago, washed w/Tide and a little bleach. Placed in closet.

Shell - 65% polyester, 35% cotton. Lining - 100% nylon.

Filling - 100% polyester.

Machine Wash.

Mary Marlowe Leverette, About.com Laundry & Laundry Rooms, says:

To whiten your polyester jacket, you do need bleach. But NEVER CHLORINE BLEACH. Chlorine bleach can actually turn polyester fibers yellow by removing the outer coating of color. I have an article available on how to whiten yellowed fabrics.

Good luck!
