My Laundry Question
How do you remove seafood odors from clothes?
Share a Little Background Info
I bought two t-shirts from a seafood market at the beach, which sells shrimp, oysters, fish, crab claws, etc. One shirt is white and the other one is navy blue. Both have pictures on the shirts.
I've washed the shirts several times in reqular Tide (includes touch of Downy in the detergent). However, the seafood odors remain so strong that I can't wear the shirts.
By the way, I'd bought another t-shirt in the past at the same market, but it did not have the offensive odor.
- I've only used Tide to launder the shirts. I, also, hung the shirts outside in the breeze but that did not help.
Fabric Content of Item (if appropriate)
The fabric is 100% preshrunk cotton.
Mary Marlowe Leverette, About.com Laundry & Laundry Rooms, says:Fill a bucket or sink with cool water and add 1 cup baking soda. Completely submerge your t-shirts and allow them to soak overnight. Wash as usual. You may need to repeat the process but it should do the trick!
