How to Remove Staining from Tide Pods

My Laundry Question

some of green towels turned gold when washed with the new tide pod. They now seem to be slowly turning green again. Why is that and how do I speed up the "greening"?

Share a Little Background Info

washed the towels with the tide pod. Not sure if I put it in first. I had green DKNY towels, another green bath towel and one gold bath towel. The DKNY green ones came out gold from the drier. I have been using them and they seem to be slowly going back to green.

Lessons Learned

Fabric Content of Item (if appropriate)

Mary Marlowe Leverette, About.com Laundry & Laundry Rooms, says:

Sometimes the Tide Pods don't dissolve completely and leave detergent residue in fabrics. To remove the residue and restore the color, wash your towels again without detergent but add one cup of white distilled vinegar to the wash water. That will speed up getting your towels back to the right color.

Good luck!
