My Laundry Question
What is your best product for a set grease stain?
I didn't see the stain before I put it in the dryer.
Share a Little Background Info
This is a food/grease stain. I don't have any other comments to make about this, but apparently we need at least 200 characters to send this. The weather is very nice today, given that we are in the middle of January.
- I have used Norwex laundry detergent. I also used Dawn dishwashing liquid, as it is a great solution for fresh grease stains.
Fabric Content of Item (if appropriate)
100% cotton, non-iron dress shirt.
Mary Marlowe Leverette, About.com Laundry & Laundry Rooms, says:
Unfortunately, grease stains that have been set by the heat of the dryer are some of the toughest to remove. You need a stain removal product that contains enzymes and is specifically formulated for grease removal (Shout, Zout or Casite Quick Works. Apply the stain remover, work it into the fabric and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Then wash the shirt in the hottest water acceptable for the fabric. You may need to treat it several times before the stain disappears.
