My Laundry Question
I bought a pure silk shirt from an op shop. There is staining under the arms (inside only) from deodorant, or perspiration. Dry cleaner says she would not be able to remove them. Is there a way to do this at home?
Share a Little Background Info
As I bought the garment second hand I'm not certain, but would say they are either perspiration or deodorant. Stain is a pale yellow and fans out from the armpit in a feathery pattern.Stain is in the fabric, not an accumulation on top.
- Apart from taking it to the dry cleaners, who would not take it, I've done nothing.

Mary Marlowe Leverette, About.com Laundry & Laundry Rooms, says:
It is very difficult to remove perspiration stains from silk. Whether you will be successful or not depends on if the silk is washable or dry clean only and the age of the stain. If the garment is washable, you can try these steps. NOTE: Use these treatments at your own risk because silk is so delicate, it may harm the fabric.
