My Laundry Question

What are the other methods for removing ink spots from clothes?

What is the method if the cloth is already washed?

Share a Little Background Info

I have a cotton jacket having permanent ink spots on front pocket.

My maid washed it at home with detergent.

What should I do for this?

The colour of this jacked is grey it should not be faded while removing spots

Lessons Learned

  • I have tried it with spirit no result.I think its colour is getting faded.

Mary Marlowe Leverette, About.com Laundry & Laundry Rooms, says:

I'm afraid I don't have any good news. With permanent ink that has already been washed and dried, there is no recommendation that will remove the stain without harming the jacket. My suggestion is to take it to a dry cleaner - ask to speak to the owner or manager (not the desk clerk) and ask their opinion.

One suggestion is to add a patch over the stain or perhaps have something embroidered over the ink.

I do have an article that covers every type of ink removal. It would be handy for your maid to have on hand in case there are other ink stains.
