My Laundry Question

How do I get the oil from a newly opened peanut butter jar out of a shirt that has been washed and dried?

Share a Little Background Info

Opened a new jar of natural peanut butter and the oil on top spilled onto a tshirt. Washed the shirt after using a pre soak. Dried without checking the stain first. Shirt is made of 25% polyester and 75% cotton.

Lessons Learned

  • Be careful opening all new jars.

Fabric Content of Item (if appropriate)

75% cotton, 25% polyester

Mary Marlowe Leverette, About.com Laundry & Laundry Rooms, says:

I'm not sure what you used as a presoak, but it takes a solvent-based stain remover to remove oily stains. Follow these directions to remove the stain. It may take several treatments since the stain has been dried on high heat and that makes it harder to remove.

Good luck!
