Mary Marlowe Leverette, About.com Laundry & Laundry Rooms, says:

Oh, my! I had one of those bad camping trips once. I know the feeling! To remove the odor of any type of fuel oil, fill your washer with water and add 1 cup baking soda. Add your washable clothes and allow to soak 30 minutes or even ovenight. Add detergent and wash as usual. This should take care of the problem.

Good luck!
