My Laundry Question
I have just purchased a lovely set of damask tablecloth and napkins that look not to have ever been used. There are some light aging marks on the folds. How do you suggest I launder the set?

- I have poured boiling water through one of the napkins at the stain spot
Mary Marlowe Leverette, About.com Laundry & Laundry Rooms, says:
Your linens sound lovely. This solution will work whether your linens are white, off white or colored.
Mix a solution of oxygen-based bleach (OxiClean, Clorox 2, Country Save Bleach, Purex 2 Color Safe Bleach ) and lukewarm water following package directions. Use enough water and a vessel large enough to completely submerge the tablecloth and all of the napkins. You might like to use your washer tub.
Place your linens in the solution and allow them to soak for 24 hours. Drain the water and launder as usual. Check them carefully before drying. If the discoloration is not gone, repeat the process.
If the items are white, hang them outside in bright sunlight and use the sun's ultraviolet rays to add additional whiteness.
