My Laundry Question

How to get rid of reddish pink color that bled onto blk and white striped capris

Share a Little Background Info

washed a red jersey with black and white striped capris. Some of the redish/pink color stained the white stripes. The pink isn't on all of the white, but only on some areas where, I believe, the other red garment was touching it. Does the fact that they have already been rewashed prevent your product from working?

Lessons Learned

  • Rewashed them with color safe bleach, ammonia, stain remover. Nothing worked. Do you have any other suggestions to try to get the pink out?

Mary Marlowe Leverette, About.com Laundry & Laundry Rooms, says:

Here's what you need to do, mix a solution of oxygen-based bleach (OxiClean, Clorox 2, Country Save Bleach, Purex 2 Color Safe Bleach) and cool water. Follow the package directions as to how much product per gallon of water. Completely submerge the garment and allow it to soak for at least eight hours. Check the stain. If it is gone, wash as usual. If it remains, mix a fresh solution and repeat. It may take several soakings to remove the stain but it should come out.

Good luck!
