My Laundry Question
What happens if I used expired high efficiency soap in my HE washing machine? Does it revert back to regular soap?
Share a Little Background Info
We own a high efficiency washing machine. A repair man was just in replacing our seal and he said that there were soap suds in our machine because the high efficiency soap we were using had expired and had reverted back to regular soap. Is this true?
- we have not tried anything else
Mary Marlowe Leverette, About.com Laundry & Laundry Rooms, says:
High-efficiency (he) laundry detergent never reverts to "regular" detergent. It doesn't technically expire, either. A bottle that is more than two years old can change texture and may not perform as well in cleaning clothes.
If your detergent has changed consistency or seems "lumpy", it should be discarded.
