My Laundry Question
Hello, I have a High Efficiency Washing Machine ( F&P). I use a liquid designed for front loaders and HE machines, but I keep getting white stains on my clothes that look like detergent marks. Whilst they can be brushed off its very frustrating. What is the best detergent to use? I live in Australia? Thanks

I get white powdery stains on my dark clothes from my High Effieciency Washing Machine. I am using the recommended liquid detergent, place the correct dose in the specified spot - but it still happens. Is there a better liquid to use?
- I have used different types of detergents.

I'm sorry this is happening but I have a feeling I can help. First, you should clean your washer - especially the detergent and fabric softener dispensing system. This will eliminate any residue that is depositing on your clothing. Make sure that you are using the correct water temperature for your detergent. If you use only cold water, you may need to purchase a detergent formula designed for cold water washes.
I'm afraid I'm not totally familiar with what brands are available in Australia (I'm in the U.S.) but try the cleaning and water temperature tips and see if that helps. If not, we may need to move on to water quality. Hard water can cause problems with detergent dispersing properly.
