Share a Little Background Info

I had a dish of food in my hands and the cream cheese was sitting on the top of the dish not fully covered, to stop it all from falling out of my hands I squeezed it to the front of my blouse, hence the stain.

Lessons Learned

  • Before washing I sprayed with a home brand pre-wash stain remover. After washing the stain is still there.

Mary Marlowe Leverette, Laundry Guide, says:

Cream cheese is an oily/protein stain. I don't know why your pretreater didn't work. Perhaps you needed to let it sit a bit longer to work before washing. Pretreaters are great but they need a little time! If you have dried your blouse in the dryer, it may take several treatments to remove the stain now that it is "baked" in.

Fill a sink with lukewarm water, add about 1/4 cup oxygen-based bleach (OxiClean, Tide Stain Release, Clorox 2). Submerge your blouse and allow it to soak for 24 hours. Check the stain, if it is gone wash your blouse as usual. If the stain remains, mix a fresh solution and repeat. That should remove the stain. Good luck and send me the recipe for the dish!
