My Laundry Question

I'm the MD of ID laundry and dry cleaning business in Lagos, Nigeria.

My question is what Laundry chemical can best remove a stain from one cloth to another.

Share a Little Background Info

This occurred when customer's clothes were packed together after washing in a basin overnight. They were dried outside and to be starched the following day. It was the following morning this stain was observed. It seems that one piece of clothing faded onto another while they were packed together.

Lessons Learned

  • I used a multipurpose Laundry chemical but no result.
  • Mary Marlowe Leverette, About.com Laundry & Laundry Rooms, says:

It sounds as if you had color or dye transfer from one piece of laundry to another. If the garment is white, you can use a color remover. For colored fabrics, I suggest using an oxygen-based bleach - NO CHLORINE - in a solution of warm water. Allow the garment to soak overnight. If the stain has not been removed, make a new solution and soak for another 24 hours. If the garment is white, drying it in the sun will help to lighten the stain and whiten the garment. Good luck!
