Caviar is fish roe or eggs. The finest types whether red, yellow or black are naturally colored and stain removal is fairly simple. However, some inexpensive roe is stained with squid ink to enhance color and that is a much more difficult stain to remove.
Begin by flushing the stained area with cold water as soon as possible. If the garment is white, sponge the area with hydrogen peroxide and then rinse with cool water. Use a prewash stain treater and launder as usual. Check the stained area of the garment before drying. If the stain remains, mix a solution of oxygen-based bleach and tepid water. Submerge the garment and allow to soak overnight and then launder as usual.
If the garment is dry clean only, point out and identify the stain to your professional cleaner. If you are using a home dry cleaning kit, be sure to treat the stain with the provided stain remover before putting the garment in the dryer bag.
