Guide Review - Sta-Flo Liquid Starch - Laundry Guide Product Review
Sta-Flo liquid laundry starch is a long-time product used to provide body and stiffness to natural fibers after washing. Sta-Flo is offered in 32 oz. or 64 oz. bottles in a concentrated form. It is then mixed with water and used in a hand-spray bottle. This offers a more environmentally friendly product than aerosol cans - and one that is less expensive.
Laundry starch is made from rice, corn or wheat. The use of starch adds body to fabrics, creates soil resistance and easier soil removal and makes ironing easier. As a natural product, starch works best on 100% cotton and cotton blends.
Manufactured by Henkel products, Sta-Flo Starch lists ingredients as:
In addition to being more environmentally-friendly, liquid starch offers the option of making the starch solution light to extra-heavy. In addition as an ironing aid for clothes, Sta-Flo starch can be used for kid's crafts to make paint or paper mache paste.
I found Sta-Flo to work just as I remembered from my childhood when I did a bit more starching and ironing. When mixed with water, it is suitable to use for several weeks, jut by giving it a shake. It does contain fragrance and dye that may be unsuitable for those with allergies. One of my favorite things about liquid starch is that I can use it to shape and stiffen crocheted crafts.
