Definition:

Laundry starch is made from rice, corn or wheat. Rice produces the highest quality laundry starch. The starch granules are extracted and mixed with water to form laundry starch in varying levels of thickness. Starch is available in granular form or aerosol cans.

The use of starch adds body to fabrics, creates soil resistance and easier soil removal and makes ironing easier. As a natural product, starch works best on 100% cotton and cotton blends.
