Definition:
Bleach is an additive which aids detergents in the removal of soil and stains. Through a process of oxidation, bleach changes the soil into soluble particles which can more easily be washed away helping to whiten and brighten washable fabrics.
There are two types of bleach
- Chlorine bleach (common household bleach or sodium hypochlorite)
- Oxygen bleach (all fabric bleach)
