Question: My front-loading washer has a foul odor, what do I do?
Here's how to remove odors from front-loading washers:
Answer:

Front-loading washers have an airtight seal to make sure thee are no leaks while the machine is in use. That same seal can trap moisture inside the machine after a load is finished. Leave the door ajar for an hour or two after use to allow the moisture to evaporate. Make sure kids do not climb into the washer while the door is open.

Never use regular detergent in front-loading washers because it creates too many suds which can lead to mechanical problems and foul odors. If you suspect a build-up in your machine lines, run the empty machine with hot water and 2 cups of distilled vinegar. Repeat if odor remains.
