Guide Review - Ultra Purex Fabric Softener - Laundry Product Review
Ultra Purex Fabric Softener is manufactured by Henkel and offered in three scents Mountain Breeze, Fresh Scent and Sweet Lavender & Cotton. The product is also available in a Sensitive Skin Formulathat contains no dyes. I tested the Mountain Breeze formula.
As with most fabric softeners, Ultra Purex is safe for use in high efficiency washer (he) as well as regular washers. It should be added during the rinse cycle or pre-loaded in the fabric softener dispenser. Fabric softener should never be poured directly on clothes as it may cause spotting. If it does, the stains must be pretreated and rewashed.
Ingredients
Ultra Purex soften clothes and reduces static cling leaving a fresh scent to clothes. However, if you have children you should pay heed to the warning on the bottle: "Purex Fabric Softener is not intended for use on children's sleepwear or other flame resistant fabrics as it may reduce flame resistance. Do not use on cotton-containing fluffier fabrics such as terry cloth and fleece as this may increase flammability."
I much prefer to use natural fabric softeners like white distilled vinegar or baking soda. You might also give Purex Crystals a try because it can be used safely on children's garments.
The bottle does not indicate that it contains post-consumer recycled plastic but it is recyclable.
