Gain Forget-Me-Not Dryer Bar - Flirty Fresh
The starter Gain Forget-Me-Not Dryer Bar comes with a refillable plastic holder that sticks to the side of your dryer with sticky tape. The bar of solid fabric softener on a bright green base slides into the white holder and is activated by the heat in your dryer and slowly melts away. The bar will last approximately 2 or 4 months depending on frequency of use and the temperature settings used. When the bar is nearly gone, the word "REPLACE" appears to remind you to remove the old bar and slide in a refill. Simply press the tab at the end of the holder and slide out the old bar. Slide new bar securely into the same holder already attached to the dryer drum.
The dryer bar is safe to use in both electric and gas dryers. Package instructions tell you to prepare a space in your dryer for the bar by cleaning and drying the location for placement. - just use rubbing alcohol to remove any dryer product residue, rinse with cool water and dry completely. Remove the paper backing on the holder and press firmly for 15 seconds onto the dryer drum. If your dryer has internal fins, do not attach there or to the dryer door.
The dryer bar is safe for all washables. But, the dryer bar should be removed when drying children's sleepwear or other garments labeled as flame resistant. The product reduces flame resistance.

Laundry Guide Recommendation
I installed the Gain Dryer Bar without a hitch and in went my wet laundry. Having a bit of knowledge of dryer bars, I did turn all the clothing inside out and fastened all buttons and zippers to prevent snags that could break the bar. The inside out trick will also prevent streaking by the bar on dark clothes.
The bar performed well with no fuss, no muss. I am not a fan of most fabric softeners due to the highly perfumed scents, and of course, Gain is highly scented. However, it is convenient for the user and does soften clothing well. Consumers should weigh the convenience against cost per use versus other fabric softening methods including white distilled vinegar and baking soda in the wash.
