Even though that duck or clown is cute and handy, there is a danger to the pop-up mesh laundry hampers. According to report from KHOU in Houston, The Consumer Product Safety Commission is looking into incidents of eye injuries caused by the metal wire breaking through the fabric. When the wire is released, it springs fast and hard and can cause harm.
If you have any pop-up hampers, take a few minutes to inspect them and be sure that the fabric holding the wire is not frayed or thin. If it is, repair or discard the hamper. Learn more about safety in the laundry room.
