Taking Care of the Blue and the Gray Laundry

Even though Veteran's Day has passed, my thoughts are still with all who have served. This year is the first celebrated Veteran's Day that there was no living World War I veteran. And, of course, there are no veteran's of America's Civil War. My great-grandfather served in the Civil War (I'm not ancient, just the late-in-life grandchild of his late-in-life son); so I did some research on how laundry was handled during America's bloodiest war.
