Product Review: Wisk 2X Ultra HE Laundry Detergent
The folks at Wisk Laundry Detergent have launched a new Web site to promote their latest detergent product, Wisk 2x Ultra HE. And, they were kind enough to send along of bottle for your laundry guide to try. Now that front loading machines are becoming more prominent in the United States, low-sudsing detergent formulas are a must.
I'm quite familiar with Wisk. It was my mother's favorite heavy-duty laundry detergent. My Daddy was a farmer and he always had plenty of dirt and grease stains on his favorite type of workpants - khaki. It worked great and he started each morning looking clean and neat.
Wisk 2X Ultra HE also performs well. I tried it on both lightly and heavily soiled clothing and both came out clean and fresh. The packaging is compact and contains 25% recycled plastic. My only complaint is that the measuring lines in the cap are nearly impossible to see. And, for a front-loading machine, measuring is vital. Too much detergent and you'll have a laundry room of suds!

Hi Mary,
Thanks for your review and feedback on Wisk HE. We’ve heard from other people that the lines in the cap is an issue and we’re looking to address it. Thanks again and keep checking LaundryHE.com for news and tips on HE detergents.

Hi. I saw an advertisement on television that said “New” Wisk is better than Tide Total Care. The problem is that I went to both of Wisk’s websites, http://www.wisk.com and laundryhe.com , and neither had any information whatsoever on this supposed “new” detergent or any statistics or information that it was better than Tide Total Care. I can’t find any information on Wisk’s website! Why would they spend all this money on television advertising, and then when I google for “wisk better than Tide Total Care” get no results from Wisk? I have no idea what facts Wisk has to back up their claim, but I am very interested in seeing them so that I can make my decision as a consumer on which detergent I want to use. You seem to have some pull with Wisk, so maybe they will see this and respond, as they did not even offer me a place on their website that worked with my browser in order to leave a comment or contact the manufacturer of Wisk. Thank you.
Thanks for your question. I will pass it along to the folks at Wisk. The July issue of Consumer Reports magazine has their comparison of laundry detergents by cost and performance. It may offer you that unbiased opinion that you seek.
Thanks again – keep the hard questions coming!
Why cant I find it at any local stores? who caries wisk? I love it and cant find it anywhere?
Kathy, I will pass your question along to Wisk HE. It will help if you give them your city or area of the country. I have found it at Wal-Mart and local grocery stores in South Carolina. Good luck!
Same for me! I can’t find it anywhere! I’ve looked at Walmart, Target, Tom Thumb, Albertsons…
Sorry…I’m in the DFW area of Texas
Jennifer,
I have passed along your frustration to the folks at Wisk. I’m sure they’re working on a nationwide roll-out of the products! Thanks for writing in and let us know when it appears on your shelves.
Hi everyone,
Thanks for your interest in Wisk. The best way for anybody to get it would be through Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/Wisk-Multi-Action-Concentrated-Detergent-Pre-Treater/dp/B001E96MT4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1239215958&sr=8-2).
You can also go to LaundryHE.com to download a coupon. Thanks again for your interest!

Thanks for the amazon link. My husband found that Wisk is one of the only detergents that don’t cause his skin to break out. But…can I use a coupon at Amazon? I need a store soon, please!
I have been a WISK user for years, and NOW cannot find it anywhere. I have always purchased it at either WalMart or K-Mart and now NOTHING. Do you have to buy it online now? We are in Mesa, Arizona.
Karen, I’ll pass your comment along to the folks at Wisk. One reader found Wisk at Kroger. Good luck in your search!
I am having the same problem in Texas. I use to buy Wisk at Wal-Mart and they don’t carry it anymore so I bought it at Target and they don’t carry it now! It is frustrating to find a product you really like, but it is not available.
I’ve sent all of your comments on to the folks at Wisk. They need to get those salesmen and trucks rolling!
Can’t find Wisk in this area either. Target used to carry, but has discontinued. Looking for Wisk in the Austin-Georgetown-Central Texas Area. Thanks!!
Just purchased the large HE dispenser bottle from Sam’s and the bottle has a leak somewhere. Have only done one load of clothes and have lost probably enough liquid to do 10 loads. What am I to do with this mess?
Tried to find a way to contact Wisk, but to no avail.
Thank you
Nancy, I know how frustrated you feel. I’ve had the same thing happen with other products. I once had a trunk full of milk due to a hole in the container. Wisk HE is made by Sun Products. Their address is:
Sun Products Corporate Office
60 Danbury Road
Wilton, CT 06897
203-254-6700
I would first start by contacting the Sam’s Club where you bought the product. They may be willing to give you a replacement or refund. Good luck and let me know how it works out. Mary
I live in Sugar Land, TX and can’t find Wisk anywhere! I found it on Amazon but the shipping is expensive! Please tell me where I can find it!!
Carolyn, I have a message into Wisk about their distribution system. I’m doing my best to help all you folks in Texas that are looking for the product. I’ll be back in touch.
Wisk just added a section on the Web site – http://laundryhe.com called “Can’t Find Wisk Near You?” It redirects to the bottom of the Q&A and says:
Q. Where can I find Wisk HE detergent ?
A. Wisk HE is available on the east coast at your local grocery, supercenter, club, drug store. You can also find Wisk outside of the east coast at Kroger stores, Food 4 Less, Ralphs, and Fred Meyer. No matter where you live though, you can purchase Wisk HE online from Amazon and DrugStore.com.
Hope this helps everyone!
I have used Wisk for years. And you are right. Wisk has disappeared off the shelves of every store I visit. The one Kmart I do find it at has now not had anything for 2 weeks. And I usually buy it in 2 or 4 bottle increments, because of the other stores NOT carrying it. Either distribution problem, or a concerted effort/conspiracy by other brands to squeeze Wisk out? Or Wisk not wanting to buy shelf space? I am extremely frustrated by this, whether internally at the company or otherwise!!!
To everyone looking for Wisk, I just did a search on Walmart’s Web site and they list that Wisk is available in their stores. My suggestion is to speak to the manager if you can’t find it in your location. And, read the other comments where you’ll find the address and phone number for Wisk’s manufacturer, Sun Products. Good luck!
I am not able to find Wisk Detergent in San Antonio, Tx anymore. Can you tell me why?
Sharon, I have a call into Sun Product’s Consumer Relations. I will report their answer about Wisk detergent just as soon as they reply!
Hi, I am having the same problem locating Wisk down in south Louisiana. Our major store (Walmart, Target) do not carry it. Is there any way to request it to be sold down here again??
I LOVE Wisk HE 2x. I have the large Whirlpool frontloading washer and I use 2-3 tablespoons of detergent per load; a bit less than recommended. Whites are brilliant, blacks stay black, excellent stain removal, and no color bleed at any temperature. Clean rinsing. Little perfume. Compact bottle. An added plus is that between washes my washer always smells clean and fresh. My sister has a Neptune frontloading washer that had mildew and “swamp smell” between washes; she started using Wisk and the problem disappeared.
Shelley, I’m working on the case of the missing Wisk! I’ll let everyone know when I discover some answers.
Dot, Great endorsement! You are so right that many of us use too much detergent. Everyone should try cutting the normal amount they use in half and see if they notice a difference. If so, gradually add some back. I’ll bet you’ll still be using less!
Another Wish lover, who can’t find it anywhere on Long Island.
Oooops……….meant Wisk
Where can I buy Wisk in St. George, UT? I used to buy it at Target, but they don’t seem to carry it any longer. I have tried several grocery stores.
Thanks.
I love using wisk and can’t find it in AZ.

They told me they discontinued it.

I purchased my very first Wisk Laundry Detergent…great price at BJ’s over other brands who have same ize and 2x and 3x.
Big time Complaint.
The container has leaked all over my laundry shelf and down over other shelves. YES, I checked to make sure the lid was not opened to much. It was hardly even turned. It is leaking from the seam on the bottle. I would not only like a refund but a coupon for anothr free. I hav liked the 7 or so loads I have done.
