Orange is one of my favorite flavors - I love it combined with dark chocolate. And, I love its sweetness with a bit of spice on seafood. Try this recipe. It's so good you won't want to drop a bite down the front of your shirt!

Spicy Orange Shrimp
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 1/2 pounds raw shrimp, peeled
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons Tabasco sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Worchestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons light brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch, dissolved in 1 tablespoon cold water
  • 4 cups cooked rice
  • Heat oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic, cook for 1 minute. Stir in orange juice, Tabasco sauce, Worchestershire sauce, light brown sugar and salt. Bring to a boil, cook for 2 minutes.Add shrimp and dissolved cornstarch, continue cooking until thickened and shrimp is opaque (about 2 to 3 minutes), stirring often. Serve hot over cooked rice. Serves 4-6.
