Follow me on:

The reason that I know so much about laundry is that I'm a messy cook. I love to cook but I always end up with something splashed on my clothes. Fortunately, I usually know how to get the stain out.

So, for the next 26 days I'm going to take you from A to Z in recipes and stain removal. I'll share some of my favorite recipes and stain removal techniques. Enjoy!

Sweet 'n Sour Springtime Asparagus
  • 2 pound fresh asparagus
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 4 green onions, diced
  • 1 stalk celery, diced
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • Steam asparagus for until fork tender. Drain well. Place asparagus in a 9 x 13 shallow baking dish. Combine remaining ingredients; mix well and pour over asparagus. Cover and chill at least 4 hours or overnight. Before serving, drain marinade. Serves 6 to 8.

Judy, The sweet and sour sauce is made from red wine vinegar, vegetable oil and sugar. Just click on the blue links to see how to remove those stains if they land on a shirt or the tablecloth! Good luck!
